I’ve been looking for a way to build interest in my Austin music history book as I’m waiting for it to be designed and printed by April 1, the 40th anniversary of me covering Austin music. These fake historical markers do the job nicely, and with the photoshop prowess of video producer Dave Prewitt (CapZeyeZ) it’s been a breeze. Previously, we did the 11th Door, Chicago House, Skyline, Jovita’s, Momo’s, Back Room, Split Rail Inn and Henry’s, which you can find in the archive if you missed ‘em. And here are three more:

I had just begun working for the state of Texas in the late 1970s so remember the Chicken Shack particularly for the later night crowds that went there a lot of fun and a lot of trouble if one was looking for it at those times when Austin was a small city comparatively :)
