Another fine bit of writing, as always. Reading this piece I came to realize that what sets you apart is
your trustworthiness. You don't fuck around with fluff. Every sentence is crafted like a boxers punch. I'm one Kev fan who could do with less of the schtickyness. Still, he is pretty great and so are you Michael. Keep banging out the good stuff.
I saw Kevin exactly ten years ago as a solo at Folk Alliance International in KC. I didn’t know anything about him back then and can’t really recall why I selected to see him perform. But I DO remember that I was completely blown away. I’ve now managed to see him on Cayamo, at Old Settlers, here in Wimberley, and numerous other times. I wasn’t on Outlaw but will be on Cayamo on March 1—-7th or 8th time. Of all the times I’ve seen him, that first time as a solo stands out.

gracias!
Oh, and I LOVED reading this great tribute with great writing.
He's a SHOWMAN! If that means schtick, then it means schtick.
Gimme that schtick in place of thick self-conscious masturbatory groans
of the average singer-songwriter. Shinyribs is never boring!
He pulls down the twinkling stars and throws them all over the audience,
and that's after he's baptized us all in moonglow.
Schtick indeed! He's the epic butterfly emerged from the chrysalis.
