Bobby's book was hair-raising. Thanks for the tribute here.

This piece really hit home for me. One of the great chapters of my life was working with the Crickets (J.I., Joe B. and Sonny) on their last album "The Crickets and Their Buddies." Bobby was on that album (along with Waylon, Nanci, Bobby Vee, Clapton, John Prine, and so many more). Bobby was larger than life, just like his friends from Lubbock. Collectively, they had/have more incredible stories than anyone. (As an aside, you would have appreciated the day I spent with the Crickets and Nanci G. at the TX capital (arranged by Casey Monahan) for "Crickets Day"...and having to borrow/use neckties that were kept at the Capital for folks who don't show up with one. Who knew?!?!?). As always, thanks for great writing and making me recall great times.
