Still more historical markers we'd like to see
The rock club in a time of Armadillo, and an historic Juneteenth concert
Looks like Austin Music Is a Scene Not a Sound (TCU Press) is not going to make the projected Spring 2024 publication date, because I kept adding photos and rewriting chapters. It just takes time to make something better. It’ll keep you posted, but it looks like we’ll see books in the early summer.
In the meantime, I’m making these virtual markers using information from the book. Photoshop is by Dave G. Prewitt of CapZeyeZ fame.
Folding Arm Pose…The great Bill Graham always said there were 10 million things that could go wrong at a concert. Plywood stage and skipping turntable is one.
Remember seeing Alvin Crow and the Neon Angels at Mother Earth before he went cosmic country.
Mother Earth was a cool club.
