I transferred to UT Austin in the early 1980s, met some guys who became friends, and one of them called me maybe a month after I got there, and asked what was I doing that night? I said nothing, and he said we're going to Antone's and watch Stevie Vaughan, and I said who the heck is that? He laughed and said, okay you definitely have to go now. Watched SRV and Albert King play for 2 hours, an absolute tour de force by both. Never had seen anything like that, and never seen anything since that was comparable. Those days in Austin were fun.
My girlfriend and I used to like to go to Rome Inn, kick off our shoes and go "barefootin to the blues on the dance floor". Seems like we saw the Triple Threat Review there too.
Anyone know what band Stevie was playing with in the first photo? thanks
I think it was just "Stevie Vaughan," no band name. Little David Murray on guitar, Eddie Stout on bass. Maybe Rodney Craig on drums.
Great Stuff Michael

Back to Rome Inn, I loved $1 manicotti night. Nobody did it better than CBoy. I think it was Tuesday, could have been Sunday.
