This is great! Never thought I’d be getting life lessons from a Corky article, but here we are. Divining secret messages from music is a thing I thought only I would do. So glad to hear I’m not alone.
I lived a wild and wonderful 20 years in Austin (‘72-‘92) and I’ve come to believe that our experiences are exactly the same but totally different. So much going on that no one person could experience it all in a thousand years. Thanks for sharing yours!
And a) sharing Hunter S. Thompson's gift for spinning words into gold while completely smashed and b) living long enough to sober up and relive those days with us who also lived those days (and teach the young 'uns who missed out the first time).
I was really touched - and very amused - by this. Thank you.

The best kind of memoir. Thanks, Michael.

"and if you don’t think music can last an eternity, you’ve never been to a Kenny Chesney concert." very funny
Is there a good email address to get you on please, Michael?
