The first time I saw Jo Carol was in the little backstage area of the Continental Club, 1983. She was sitting on Jesse Taylor’s lap and proclaimed, “ I always loved Jesse best!”

I love this. I got to write about her at the Morning News a couple of times in the late 80s, early 90s, including a review of her show at Club Dada one evening. Instantly smitten, and she kinda befriended me. I'll always love Jo Carol. There is just no one like her.

I met her when I was mis-managing the Wannabes. She was lovely and gracious and hilarious. I am so very sad she’s no longer with us.
BTW, she loved the song the Wannabes did on her tribute record and their performance at her record release party at Liberty Lunch.
