When Tim died, there wasn’t a word in the Chronicle or Statesman, and still hasn’t been to my knowledge. This is the first real obit I’ve read. Thanks.
i'm holding the 25 year chip tim gave me when we both hit 25 years. right now i got tears in my eyes...i sat with tim's ashes with connie....i really dont know what to say but thank you michael. you are the only one i can imagine to put all this into words of love and reality and yesteryear succinctly and soufully. with all my heart. i fuckin' miss that guy. and yea....the gun....tim...c/s
Tim was my mentor and buddy during my Austin stay in the mid-80's. I was there with him as he cleaned up but let me say that at his worst he was the best and at his best he was magnificent. He had his detractors but they didn't know him, really. Tim was flawed as we all are but he was also magic as we all are not. I will never forget him and I wish I had one more day to tell him that.
What happened to Bruiser and the other pups? :) Tim survived cancer a long time ago, sorry that it came back. Sorry to hear about his passing... he will be missed. I first met Tim as a volunteer for Farm Aid at the Austin Opera House and we became friends ... Thank you for the nice write-up!
Saw Marcia Ball play last night here in Minneapolis. Reminded me of long ago Austin. Our friend Bene used to argue with Marcia about which of the two was the taller piano playing woman.
By the way, “La Zona Rosa” was the long ago name of the part of Mexico City where the wealthy hung out.

I hope that you do not mind my asking, but does anyone know the whereabouts of Doc Sully aka Terry Sullivan? Thx :)
